There’s A Frog On The Porch

Those websites and guides I rely on are not just tools; they’re the secret weapon for hunting down the best flights, accommodation and location ideas.

FLIGHTS

Google Flights is probably the easiest and most comprehensive flight search tool. I always start my search process here then cross reference with other sites.

Skyscanner has rarely let me down. It will repeatedly pull up the cheapest flight options out on the web.

ITA Matrix, like Amadeus, is a software that is the holy grail of flight search tools, that is why many travel agencies and airline websites use it. Google Flights works off this software but ITA can give more comprehensive search results.

Before I select my seats on a flight I always check out SeatGuru. It’s got insider tips on the best place to sit on any plane as well as other helpful guides on in-flight shopping and amenities.

Hopper is a great app for travellers, especially those travelling on a budget! This app will monitor ticket prices for airfare as well as prices for hotels and alert you when prices drop, or a deal comes up.

Download the APP from your store.

Momondo is a little like Skyscanner, It’s a search engine that allows you to see what days/weeks are cheaper in a single glance.

Turbli is a great website that allows you to check the weather and turbulence forecasts along the flight route.

ACCOMMODATION

Booking.com is my go-to for hotel searches around the world. They have over millions of properties in including boutique stays, hostels, and luxury properties, with free cancellation.

Whether you want a couch or a castle it’s got you covered.

GETTING ABOUT

Rome2Rio provides all sorts of transportation options for a travel route including bus, train, plane or boat.

I love the freedom of having wheels abroad! Rentalcars.com provide competitive pricing for multiple rental car providers in a given destination.

The Man In Seat 61 is a great website that mainly focuses on train and occasional ferry travel and recommendations.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

If you require a data package mobile phone deal for overseas then consider one of the following esims. Just ensure it’s activated before you travel. Esims do not alter your current providers package.
