THE STORY
There’s A Frog On The Porch
I was into my second week on the island of Langkawi, Malaysia…
…when the sultry mid-afternoon humidity suddenly sparked a fierce thunderstorm electrifying the air.
I was wandering the main street of Pantai Cenang for a ‘supplies run’ for snacks and drinks when suddenly the skies unleashed a torrential downpour. I sprinted back to my quaint Malaysian-style bungalow fleeing from the wrath of the thunderstorm. The bungalow, though modest, was a nod to Malay tradition complete with a front porch boasting a cosy little seating area. Every now and then, I’d open the front door, defiantly peering out to gauge the chaotic weather outside.
After an hour or so the rain relinquished and the air cleared. I cracked open the door to only hear the dripping of water falling from the fronds of the surrounding palm trees. To my surprise there was a frog sitting just outside. I turned around and announced in a surprised voice “There’s A Frog On The Porch!” – and the name was born.

About This Site
There’s A Frog On The Porch
Firstly, Hello and welcome…
… to ‘Theres A Frog On the Porch’.
I thrive on travelling and have created this site to share my experiences and photographs with fellow travel enthusiasts. Think of it as my digital journal. My ‘Dear Dairy’ from decades past. Each travel blog and destination guide offers my personal perspective, detailing my personal itinerary, adventures, and valuable tips I believe can benefit others. I’ll list accommodation, train, taxi and bus travel; tips I personally felt useful and any activities I pursued.

Please be advised that some of the information presented may be outdated. I do update when life allows time. All notes regarding visa and entry requirements are from a British citizen perspective. Always consult your local country’s rules. I don’t subscribe for any business media packages as this is my hobby. I don’t get paid for this, nor is this a career path. You may feel it lacks visual appeal, although I do my best.
Now with all that said…
Welcome to…
… There’s A Frog On The Porch and enjoy reading!
